So I’m in Houston this weekend. Staying at Sternum’s pad. It’s a pretty cool complex here. He has the entertainment room for the complex like right outside his door. It has a pool table, a few public computers for use, a coffee selection thingy, a popcorn machine. And the courtyard has a nice pool and hot tub thing and a cool bbq patio thing with 2 huge grills. the wierd thing is though, the courtyard “grassy” area is actually turf, like pretty realistic stuff comparable to a pro football field. Anyways, came up here for the weekend to go to a Model Railroad convention. Woooooooowwwwww. That was the shizznizzle. I was a big kid in a BIG toy store. They had like a half dozen model clubs that set up a big layout. and they had a few presentations going on. And most of the big name train stuff manufacturers had their presence there. And a bunch of shops, including a few that sold used boxcars for pretty cheap. Needless to say, I went hog wild. Some highlights of my purchases include 2 trialers, giraffes, boy scouts, backpackers, nudists, a jug band, homeless people, about 2 dozen box cars with intersting sponsorships (Jack Daniels, Billy Beer, Baby Ruth, Heintz Pickles, Vlasic Pickles), and a few other misc. nick nacks for the trian. And I goit n engineer’s hat. WooWoooooo.
I officially got the keys to the trailer on Friday. I’ll be in it Sunday when i get home. Porch resumes shortly thereafter. More to come on Porch.
Hope everyone has had a festive New Year thus far. I’ll be adding pics of the new train stuff and from the convention/visit to Houston soon enough. keep your pants on.
