lionslogoI am an active member of the University Park Lions Club in Kenner, LA where I have served my club as Secretary, President, Lion Tamer, a board member, and currently, Ex-Officio. I am a Melvin Jones Fellow.

I have served my district as the District Technology chair and webmaster for our district’s website. Live from our State Convention, I’ve done a podcast promoting the work of the Lions in the state of Louisiana as well as our Lions State projects; the Eye Foundation and the Children’s Camp.

I currently am the webmaster for the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation.

For those of you unfamiliar with what exactly the Lions are, the Lions Club is a service organization founded in 1917 by a Chicago businessman Melvin Jones. He and fellow business members created a club with a motto of “We Serve” as a way to help improve their communities. In 1925 at the Lions International Convention, Helen Keller charges the Lions to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness.” So many times, people associate Lions specifically with their work to fighting blindness solely, but The Lions have many projects that we work on.yourtown

Lions clubs can be found in just about every community in the United States, and many countries across the world. For further information aboutt helions, visit any of the aforementioned links, orLions Clubs International.
