eaglebadgeI am an Eagle Scout from BSA Troop 231 in Metairie, LA, earning my Eagle in 1996.

I grew up in the Scouting Program. I was a Cub Scout with Pack 261 at St. Ann in Metairie, LA. I then joined Boy Scout Troop 261 at St Ann, and the troop relocated to VFW Hall 640 in Metairie, where we actually changed Troop number to 640. Due to scheduling conflicts, I then changed troops again, joining Troop 231 at St. Phillip Neri in Metairie. I also was a member of several Explorer posts (many due to camp Staff).

As a youth, I held just about every position in the troop, including Senior Patrol Leader, Asst. Senior Patrol Leader, Librarian, and Den Chief to name a few.

I worked numerous years at Salmen Scout Reservation’s Summer Camp (1993-1999, 2001). At camp, I worked as a CIT my first year, in the Dining Hall as the Director for several years, as Camp Admin in 1998-1999, and finally as Asst. Quartermaster in 2001. I also worked a number of years at Salmen’s Winter Camp, several local Cub Day Camps, and many district and council camporees.v-bar

I earned a multitude of merit badges on my trail to Eagle (if I remember correctly, it was around 60 MB’s) from a variety of topics including Aviation, Railroading, Journalism, and many more as well as the standard Eagle Required merit badges.
