Let’s see ….since my last post.
Opa!! Drank heavily at GreekFest. As did Pounders. Pounders’ car never left GreekFest. It was a great time.
The house.. Gone!!! still no solid plan but have a few in mind. more to come on that.
Trailer life. ehh.. It’s trailer life. not good. not bad. Just trailer life.
The car. It’s been in it’s first wreck. Let me start by saying, IT WASN”T MY FAULT. I know my track record, so just throwing that out there. The breakdown of how it happened. Woke up Saturday (rea lly last Sat.) and wentto get breakfast. I come to a side street and there’s this truck stopped about 30 yards ahead in the middle of the street. Like an f-150 truck. I figure ok this dude’s checking his address of a job site or some shit. Next thing you know, he’s backing up at full speed. Slams into the front of me. He starts to drive away. I chase him down like a cop on one of those Most Extreme Cop Chases. Eventually he’s stopped on top of a stop sign and in a bush. Silly migrant worker. I get his insurance info after like 20 minutes of trying to understand him thru the little englishhe spoke and the little Spanish I know (why couldn’t we be talking sausages, cheese, dogs, cats, and curse words?) Anyways, I eventually get all the paperwork for his insurance together and now my car’s in the shop getting repaired. My rental: a Kia Sportage. It’s like driving a grocery cart. But the A/C is cold. and kinda smells like pee when ya first turn it on. At least I wasn’t hurt. And The rendezvous will be fixed.
Been to Shreveport 2 times since i left there for good post-storm. Once for a weekend for the Lions. Once for work for a week for testing Disaster Recovery procedure. I picked up the name DJ Cat 5 on that trip, for my 7ee+ PC skills. I used a tape deck adapter (the Yukon we rented had a tape player) and a cigarette lighter AC adapter and my laptop with portable drive, I created a playlist that went everywhere from Sublime to Jimmy Buffet to Richard Cheese’s rendition of the O&A favorite “Shitdick”. Talk about keeping your co-workers on their toes. We drank alot out there.
Other stuff. Dad is officially District Governor of District 8-S (which is New Orleans, Metairie, St Bernard, Plaquimemenes, Terrebone, and all those Saint parishes between.) Dad is very happy bout it,but very busy. We are proud of him. The Lucia rampage of Destin is in like 3 weeks. I’m excited about that. Should be a fun time. It will be good to see all the family too. And to be away from work for a week.
The Square. Wednesdays at the Square have been phenomenal. seen all kinds of local bands for free and had some good winddown after work beers with not only the work click (Theriot, Jonathan, Chris, and whoever else comes on random weeks)but also GHOTI, Camille, and Pounders. Cheers to you all. Ooo Piece of Candy.
